圣安德鲁斯大学在哪个城市?
The University of St Andrews is in Fife, Scotland. It's about 50 miles northeast of Edinburgh and a bit less than that from Glasgow. The university city isn’t huge but it has everything you need when you are there. There are beautiful parks, gardens and views all over the place. And of course lots of nice pubs (of which we have many).
I recommend going to Edinburgh if you can – I went for the day with my friend while studying there last year. You can hop on a bus that takes you right around the city, stopping off at various sites such as the National Museum. They also have an open-air museum so you can wander right through some old buildings and see how people used to live.
In town about halfway between the university and the centre is a castle, called Falkland Palace. My friends and I went on a tour and learned quite a lot about its history. If you want to go inside the palace, you have to make sure you have clear shoes with you(鞋必须要能穿上); because this is a royal residence, you never know what kind of decorations or furnishings will be inside!
Another great place to visit is the Scottish National Gallery(国家画廊)which has lots of different exhibitions, from classic paintings to more contemporary works. We were lucky enough to have one about Monet while we were there. Of course, no trip to the capital would be complete without visiting the famed Edinburgh Castle. This was once again another place where I visited with my friend, only this time we had a really nice view of the city from the top of the castle walls.
